Privacy and terms
Lemon Flicks reads the public ratings of a Trakt account and finds the people who rate like it. This page says exactly what is read, what is kept and for how long, and what the site will never do. Last updated 14 October 2026.
Privacy
the short version first- The site reads ratings that are already public on Trakt. A private account is only read after its owner signs in on Trakt.
- There is no account, no password and no email to give. Nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising, and there is no analytics script on the page.
- One cookie identifies your browser so a Trakt login can be tied to it. The request log keeps your IP address for 90 days and is then deleted.
- Write to [email protected] and the ratings of your account, the login and the log lines are removed.
What is read from Trakt
When you type a Trakt username, the site asks the Trakt API for the ratings of that account: the title, the score and the date. That is what Trakt already shows to anyone on the account's public page. If the account is private, Trakt refuses, and the site asks the owner to sign in on Trakt once; the site then reads the ratings with the permission you gave, and nothing else from the account besides the username and the privacy setting.
The ratings are kept, with the username, so the people who rate like you can be found and so the next list comes in seconds rather than minutes. They are refreshed from Trakt in the background. The ratings of every account the site has seen are also what makes the suggestions for everybody else: the hundred people whose scores match yours best are found among them, and what they loved is your list. Those people are never named on the page; only counts are shown.
What is kept on this site only
Ignore and don't like this are stored here, under your username, and are never sent to Trakt. "Don't like this" is kept as a 1 out of 10 on this site, so it also counts when the people who rate like you are found. Clearing the ignore list removes the ignored titles; a disliked title stays out until you ask for it to be removed.
Signing in on Trakt
Adding a title to your watchlist, saving a list on your account and reading a private account need your Trakt login. The sign-in happens on trakt.tv, not here: the site never sees your password. Trakt gives the site an access token for your account, which is stored together with an identifier of your browser (the cookie below) so only that browser can act on the account. The token is used for what you asked and for nothing else. You can revoke it at any time on Trakt, under settings, connected apps, or ask us to delete it.
Cookies
- user_uuid: a random identifier of your browser, set on the first visit and renewed on every visit, for 350 days. It ties a Trakt login to the browser that made it. It is not used to track you across other sites, and nobody else receives it.
- gs_username: the last username you typed, so the field is filled in when you come back. 350 days.
Both are first-party, marked secure and HttpOnly, and can be deleted from your browser at any time; the site keeps working without them. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
The request log
Every request for suggestions is logged with the username, the filters, the time it took, the identifier of your browser and your IP address, so the queue can be watched and abuse stopped. Log lines older than 90 days are deleted automatically. The site runs behind Cloudflare, which sees the requests to serve them and keeps its own short-lived connection logs.
Where the data about titles comes from
The details of the movies and series (posters, cast, scores, synopses) come from Trakt, TMDB, OMDb (IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores) and fanart.tv. Posters and photos are loaded by your browser from their servers (TMDB, and the image servers of IMDb), which see your IP address as any image load does. The fonts are served by this site, no third party sees that request.
Your choices
- To stop the site from reading an account, make it private on Trakt. The ratings already kept here are removed on request.
- To disconnect, revoke the app on Trakt (link above) and clear the cookies; or write to us and the token is deleted.
- To have everything about an account removed (ratings, ignore and dislike marks, the login and the log lines), write to [email protected] from a way we can tie to the account, such as a message on Trakt. It is done by hand within a few days.
Terms of use
plain and shortWhat the site is
Lemon Flicks is a free, personal project in beta: suggestions of movies and series computed from the ratings of the Trakt users whose taste matches yours. It is offered as it is, without any warranty. It may change, pause or stop at any time, and a suggestion is an opinion of the people who rate like you, not a promise that you will like the title.
Using it
- Type usernames of accounts whose ratings are public on Trakt, or your own. Do not use the site to pull the ratings of people who made them private.
- Use the page as a person does. Automated requests, scraping of the results or of the api, and anything that floods the queue may be blocked.
- Actions on your Trakt account (watchlist, lists) are done only when you press the button that asks for them, with the login you gave on Trakt, and are governed by Trakt's terms.
The data and the marks
Movie and series data, posters, photos and scores belong to their sources and are shown under their terms: this product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB; the Trakt API is used under its terms of use. Trakt, IMDb, TMDB, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic are trademarks of their respective owners. The site's own name, logo and text are those of Lemon Flicks.
Liability
The site is provided free of charge and in good faith. To the extent the law allows, it is not liable for any loss arising from its use or from a title it suggested, nor for the content, availability or terms of the sites it links to.
